Pratt will perform at LSS benefit dinner Gordy Pratt will provide the entertainment for the annual benefit dinner for Lutheran Social Services (LSS) to be held on Sunday, Nov. 7 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermillion.
The event begins at 1 p.m. and will conclude by 3 p.m. Reservations are necessary and can be made by calling Linda Jensen at the LSS state office at 1-800-568-2401 ext. 136. Trinity Lutheran Church is located at 816 East Clark Street.
Pratt will be performing a one man variety show with funny songs and comedy delivered by a variety of characters, a splash of flashy classical guitar playing and a little banjo pickin'. A seasoned performer, Pratt has opened for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, John McEuen, Glen Campbell, Williams and Ree, Michael Martin Murphey and many other national acts
Pratt has also toured with the New York Shakespeare Festival's national tour of Pirates of Penzance and the world tour of Ain't Misbehavin'.
Pratt lives in Deadwood with his wife and two children.
The purpose of the dinner is to raise funds to support the services of LSS in SE South Dakota. LSS has local offices in Vermillion and Yankton, as well as Woodfield, a residential youth treatment center outside of Beresford. Tickets to cover the cost of the event are $8.50, and pledges or contributions will be requested to support the LSS services in the area.
