Professional Development Day set November 2 at University The University of South Dakota Chapter of Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) and Delta Sigma Pi will sponsor a Professional Development Day on Nov. 2 at 6 p.m.
The evening will consist of an etiquette dinner presented by Doris Allan of Yankton and feature a motivational speech by Rebecca Dunn, a USD alumna and South Dakota state senator from Sioux Falls.
With a theme of "The Path Toward Professionalism: The Key Essentials," USD students will be educated on the proper ways to present themselves at a lunch/dinner interview with a prospective employer. Additionally, an informational fact sheet will be provided to the students describing appropriate attire to wear to interviews, resume formats, questions to ask during interviews, do's and don'ts for interviews, and information about web sites on careers. PRSSA and Delta Sigma Pi will also randomly draw two students' names to receive scholarships.
