SDPTV to present South Dakota Focus Small businesses in South Dakota are facing hard times. The proliferation of big chain stores and the agricultural slump have combined to force some businesses to close their doors and leave others teetering on the edge.
The small business crisis will be the topic when South Dakota Focus airs live on Friday, Oct. 8, at 8 p.m. The panel discussion program will give viewers a chance to call in with their questions and comments. An encore of the show will be aired at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10.
Later in the month, a special halfhour South Dakota Focus will zero in on prison issues at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29. The live program will follow the debut of Behind Bars at 8 p.m. The gritty South Dakota Public Television production takes viewers to the state's prisons for a candid look at the harsh lives that prisoners face. The two-program combo re-airs at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31.
Focus zeroes in on the issues and the problems on South Dakotans' minds. Richard Muller, host of Focus, leads experts in discussions of the issues and takes calls from interested viewers. The talk show, a production of South Dakota Public Television, is a regular feature on South Dakota Public Television. The show is in its 13th season.
