USD men excel during pre-region meet in Fargo The University of South Dakota Cross-Country teams traveled to Fargo, ND to participate in the NCAA Pre-Region meet hosted by North Dakota State University at the Edgewood Golf Course.
The men had a good showing as Noah Randles, a junior from Rapid City, placed third overall with a time of 32:05 in the 10,000 meter race. Jason Probasco, fifth, 32:10, and Adam Lindahl, ninth, 32:43, had strong races while still battling injury problems from previous weeks. Iowa City sophomore Solomon Richards posted his best race of the short season with a 16th place finish, 33:15. David Farnsworth was USD's fifth man, 25th, 33:54. This meet was unscored and had 79 harriers from USD, Augustana, North Dakota State, North Dakota, University of Minnesota-Duluth, South Dakota State, and Moorhead State.
Matt Burke, 43th, 34:53, Adam Riddles, 53th, 35:19, and Jerad Hains, 57th, 35:37, ran unattached from USD.
The USD Coyotes ran an incomplete team due to sickness and injury. Due to cautionary measures, the Lady Coyotes' top two harriers Molly Wendel and Krista Lederer were held out of this race. Senior Krista Trei led USD with a 15th-place finish in 23:29. Alison Luedke, 26th, 23:55, and Alison Wooley, 29th, 23:57, had strong showings. Teresa Ferris ran unattached, 55th, 24:59. The ladies field had 105 participants from USD, Augustana, Morningside, North Dakota State, St. Cloud State, South Dakota State, Concordia, and the University of North Dakota.
