USD's Josh Wendling wins NCC golf title South Dakota senior Josh Wendling captured the men's individual title at the North Central Conference golf championships held Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Sioux Falls.
Wendling shot a 77 on the final day for a 226 – beating Kris Kroetsch (North Dakota), Kyle Hicks (Northern Colorado) and Kyle Mack (North Dakota) by one stroke.
The Coyotes shot a 965 as a team. Jason Pease was USD's second golfer with a 244, followed by Jeremy Scott (252), Jeremy Hitt (253) and Mick Kaiser (256). North Dakota won the team title with a 918.
Jenny Chandler led the USD women with a 271. Nora Remilly was second at 283, followed by Dessa Gemar (301), Julia Middendorf (323) and Jennifer Crane (331). The Coyotes were seventh with a 1172. Northern Colorado captured the team trophy with a 1019.
