Audiologist attends development seminars Yankton Medical Clinic's clinical audiologist, Kevin C. Pons, M.A., C.C.C-A, recently participated in five post-graduate professional development seminars.
In September, Pons attended the South Dakota Academy of Audiology Videoconference on Cochlear Implantation and in October he attended the academy's videoconference on Sonic Innovations, a new manufacturer of digital hearing instruments.
During the months of October and November, Pons participated in the American Speech Language Hearing Association's teleconferences discussing and reviewing auditory neuropathy and central auditory processing disorders.
Most recently, Pons attended the Mayo Clinic's 10th Audiology Videoconference held at the Royal C. Johnson Memorial Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls. The conference discussed hair cell regeneration, otoacoustic emissions and a variety of cutting edge technologies to assist those in need of hearing instrument rehabilitation.
Pons' practice is located in the Ear, Nose and Throat Department at Yankton Medical Clinic and has outreach services to Freeman Hospital and the Vermillion Medical Clinic.
