CorTrust Bank named Tournament Partner The South Dakota High School Activities Association today announced that CorTrust Bank, based in Mitchell, with locations in 13 South Dakota communities including Vermillion, has been named the Tournament Partner of the association.
CorTrust Bank has signed a four-year agreement with the association, beginning with the current school year and running through the 2002-2003 school year. CorTrust Bank has an option for an additional four years.
"The opportunity to be involved with CorTrust Bank through our Tournament Partnership is exciting," says Marlyn Goldhammer, executive director of the association. "We know the folks at CorTrust have supported youth activities for more than 60 years. They showed an interest in partnering with us from the beginning when we first made our announcement this past spring that we were going to search for corporate sponsors. We are pleased to have reached this agreement and expect the next four years to be very beneficial to our students throughout the state."
The board of directors made the decision this spring to search for a Premier Corporate Partner and one or more Supporting Partners. This Tournament Partnership with CorTrust Bank is one part of the associations Supporting Partnership Program. A few weeks ago the association announced its Premier Partnership with Burger King.
The sponsorship with CorTrust Bank will include many components involving all the state athletic and fine arts tournaments held throughout the school year by the association. In addition to exclusivity for such items as signage at the tournaments, scoreboard and PA announcements, plus program advertising, CorTrust will participate in the presentation of trophies and medals at designated tournaments, possibly become an outlet for state tournament tickets and other key benefits.
"We've been active participants in support of youth programs throughout the state for years, so this just seemed a natural extension of our support for students," says Boyd Hopkins, president of CorTrust Bank." We believe athletic and fine arts activities are a great way for students to better understand the teamwork, dedication and the drive to succeed that will help them later in their work careers."
