Lias receives SDEA award David Lias, editor of the Vermillion Plain Talk, is recipient of the 1999 South Dakota Education Association/National Education Association Golden Apple Award for outstanding education newspaper coverage.
Lias is one of 11 media representatives in the state honored by the SDEA/NEA.
He received the award during the SDEA/NEA's professional development conference Nov. 5 in Pierre.
Lias' column, "Between the Lines," received the award in the newspaper editorial category.
