Christmas choir music tradition continues Dec. 5 A Christmas traditional service that has continued for 57 years will be repeated this Sunday, Dec. 5 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Church of Christ Congregational.
The senior choir will present the choral work, Magnificat by Joaann Pachelbel. The Magnificat text is the song of Mary when the angel Gabriel told her that she would give birth to the son of God.
The choral work will be accompanied by strings, trumpets, and an organ. John Thomson and Ingrid Miller, violins; Karen Lipp, viola; Richard Rognstad, cello; Kevin Miller, bass violin; Scott Muntefering and Mike Hench, trumpets will play the orchestra parts with Jack Noble, organ. Jeanne Dahlin is the director. Other Christmas carols to be sung by the senior choir are Candlelight Carol by John Rutter, Lo How a Rose E'er Blooming and Bring a Torch, Jeanette, Isabella, Art Wetzler.
