DARE report by Officer Chad Gillen Summarizing D.A.R.E. lessons This week in D.A.R.E. your students summarized and assessed what they have learned in the D.A.R.E. class. Students respond appropriately as a team to questions involving drug use and violence through an enjoyable game styled after a TV game show. Also the students are assigned their "Taking a Stand" essay which is required for them to culminate from the D.A.R.E. Program.
Listed below are several topics for discussion to help you reinforce what your child learned:
* What is the name given to those drugs that can change the way a person thinks, feels, and acts? (Mind-altering)
* Name the three social feelings that all people need to feel good about themselves? (A commercial tries to persuade someone to buy a product or service. A PSA tries to promote a message for the benefit of everyone.)
