DARE report by Officer Chad J. Gillen Taking a stand This week in D.A.R.E. your students composed and read aloud an essay on how they can respond when they are pressured to use drugs or alcohol. The essays represent each students' "D.A.R.E. pledge." And they should be giving you notice of their coming culmination ceremony.
Listed below are several topics for discussion to help you reinforce what your child learned:
* What did they like best about the D.A.R.E. Program?
* As a result of D.A.R.E., do they think they will be able to say "NO!" to drugs?
* Should the D.A.R.E. Program be continued for other students their age?
Please feel free to contact me if you wish to attend your child's D.A.R.E. class: Officer Chad J. Gillen, Vermillion Police Department, phone 677-7070.
