Gymnasts face 11AA teams at Mitchell Invite Saturday After a long (100 mile) drive on a cold wintery Saturday, the Tanager gymnasts met a contingent of nine 11AA schools (and Madison) for participation in the Mitchell Kernels Invitational on Dec. 18.
Amber Reisdorph was entered in All Around competition and scored 24.875 points to lead the VHS participants. It was not expected that Vermillion would land anyone in the top five in any event, considering the competition, but here are the team leaders and scores
for the following in each event:
Uneven Parallel Bars: Natalie Tuetken (V) 6.025.
Balance Beam: Beth Pier (V) 6.3.
Floor Exercise: Reisdorph (V) 8.075.
Vault: Reisdorph (V) 7.9; Meganne Hovden (V) 7.85.
Final meet results: R.C. Stevens 144.1, Brookings 136.8, Watertown 134.78, Yankton 133.8, Spearfish 130.6, Madison 130.3, Mitchell 129.6, Sioux Falls Lincoln 126.9, Pierre 122.4.

"The meet was an excellent way for our girls to find new combinations and connections for their routines," said Coach Mark Upward. "This meet had some of the best gymnasts in the state at the double level � they are fun to watch, but they can also be somewhat intimidating."
