Shoplifting suspects sought by officials The Vermillion Police Department and area law enforcement officials are searching for two suspects involved in a reported shoplifting incident Dec. 6 at Jones' Food Center in Vermillion.
After suspecting that they were trying to steal baby formula, Greg Peters, owner/manager of the store, stopped two adult Hispanic males as they left the building at about 12:47 p.m. Peters managed to detain one individual "but the other one reached in his pocket as if he had a weapon," said Police Chief Bruce Plate, "so Greg let the first man go."
The suspects fled the scene in a blue Toyota four-door with Texas license plates. They were last seen heading east on Cherry Street and area law enforcement officials were notified.
