USD swim team beats SCSU The South Dakota swimming and diving team hosted St. Cloud State Saturday in a North Central Conference dual. The USD men improved their record to 6-3 with a 139-108 win. The Coyote women are 3-10 after losing to the Huskies, 140-81.
Matt Fox claimed both the one-meter (272.93) and three-meter (256.88) diving boards for the Coyotes. Tyler Hartl was also a double winner with top times in the 200 freestyle (2:00.58) and 100 freestyle (54.98). Justin Devlin won the 100 breaststroke (1:09.90) and David Kovar took the 50 freestyle (26.51).
Leading the USD women were Sara Hamlet, Sara Pokela and Robyn Chrissinger. Hamlet won the 800 freestyle (9:42.00), while Pokela claimed the 100 backstroke (1:10.09) and Chrissinger was first in the 400 freestyle (4:39.63).
The Coyotes compete in the St. John's Invitational January 15-16.
