USD men 15-0 after sweeping two in ND South Dakota shot 55.3 percent from the field in a two-game road sweep over North Dakota (95-89) and North Dakota State (71-52) last Friday and Saturday.
The wins improved the Coyotes' record to 15-0 and their NCC-leading mark to 6-0. USD will host Morningside Saturday.
The Coyotes led North Dakota, 40-35, at halftime. In the second half, USD shot 63.6 percent hitting 14 of 22 as the Coyotes built a 24-point lead. The Fighting Sioux came within 4 points late in the game, but the Coyotes held off North Dakota with free throws.
For the game, USD shot 59.6 percent (28-47) and the Coyotes were 29 of 33 from the charity stripe, including 20 of 21 in the second half. UND shot 48.6 percent from the floor (36-74).
South Dakota had five players in double scoring figures. Nathan Blessen and Ben Ries led the way with 25 and 18 points, respectively. Jeremy Kudera had 16 points and seven rebounds, while Nate Tibbetts tallied 11 points and 10 assists. Jason Barrow finished with 10 points.
The Coyotes again shot well in their win over North Dakota State at 51.1 percent (24-47) and USD held the Bison to 41.5 percent shooting (22-53).
USD, which held a 32-28 halftime lead, went 18-for-19 from the free throw line. The Coyotes also had a 35-24 edge in rebounds. Blessen again paced USD with 27 points. Barrow had 19 points, and Kudera finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Ries tallied 8 points and five rebounds, while Tibbetts dished out 10 assists for the second straight game along with 2 points and five rebounds.
For the two games, the Coyotes were 47-for-52 (.904) from the free throw line led by Blessen, who made 20 of 22.
