USD rolls past Morningside; improves record to 9-7 overall The South Dakota women's basketball team outscored Morningside, 55-25, in the second half en route to a 92-46 win over the Mustangs on Saturday.
The Coyotes improved to 9-7 overall and 2-5 in the North Central Conference.
USD will host St. Cloud State and Minnesota State-Mankato Friday and Saturday.
The Coyotes shot 50.0 percent from the field hitting 35 of 70, including 55.3 in the second half.
USD was led by Kelly Koepp's 24 points. She was 11-for-14 from the field.
Nicole Jaycox finished with 16 points, followed by Heather Nelson with 15 points and 13 for Julia Frie.
The Coyotes held a 47-32 advantage in rebounds led by Amanda Iverson and Heather Nelson with 12 and 10 boards, respectively.
USD forced the Mustangs into 22 turnovers.
The Coyotes limited Morningside to 32.7 percent shooting from the field.
