Coyotes earn NCAA qualifying marks in NE South Dakota competed in the Nebraska Track & Field Invitational last Saturday in Lincoln, NE.
The Coyotes host the four-team USTCA meet this Saturday with South Dakota State, Augustana and Northern State.
Leading the Coyotes were Matt Hoyt and Andrew Neugebauer. Hoyt placed second in the 3,000 with a school-record time of 8:17.81 � breaking his own school mark of 8:30.77 set in 1998.
Neugebauer teamed with Tom Green, Ryan Finley and John Kehoe in the 4×400 relay for a fourth-place time of 3:15.73 which qualified the Coyotes to the NCAA Division II indoor meet. In the 800, Neugebauer came in fifth in 1:53.57 which met the provisional national qualifying standard.
Stephanie Senn was second in the unseeded mile with a provisional time of 5:02.32. Also meeting NCAA provisional marks were Molly Wedel in the 5,000 (11th in 17:28.32) and Sandy Pelkofer in the pole vault (ninth at 11-1).
In other results, Green was fifth in the 60 (6.83); Tonya Kneifl was eighth in the high jump (5-5); and the women's 4×400 relay team placed third in the unseeded division (3:58.25).
