Vermillion swimmers compete at Mitchell Invitational Seven swimmers traveled to Mitchell to compete in the Mitchell Invitational on Jan. 22 and 23. Individuals and their places are as follows:
Girls 8 and under:
Karissa Martin first � 25 fly, 50 back, 100 IM, 100 free, 25 back; third � 25 fly; fifth � 50 breast;
Erica Johnson seventh � 50 breast; eighth � 25 breast; ninth � 50 free; 12th � 25 back; 14th � 50 back; 16th � 25 free.
Boys 8 and under:
Taylor Jensen second � 25 fly, 50 free, 50 breast; third � 100 IM; fourth � 25 breast; sixth � 50 back; seventh � 25 free; eighth � 25 back.
Boys 9-10:
Tony Jensen first � 50 breast, 100 breast, 50 fly, 100 fly, 100 IM, 200 IM, 50 back, 100 back.
Boys 11-12:
Andrew Manning first � 50 free, 100 free, 500 free, 100 back, 50 back, 50 breast, 100 breast, 200 IM.
Darren Martin first � 200 free; second � 100 fly, 50 back, 500 free, 100 IM, 200 IM; third � 50 fly; fourth � 50 free.
Boys 13-14:

Individual high point medals were awarded to the swimmers in each age group. From VAST, Karissa Martin received first place for girls 8 and under, Tony Jensen, first place boys 9-10, Andrew Manning, first place 11-12 boys, Darren Martin, third place, and Justin Manning, third place.
