Around the Town by Emma Drissen Happy Spring! Time for "wearin' of the green!"
The Vermillion Area Arts Council is holding its sixth annual St. Patrick's Day Celebration on Friday, March 17 at the Washington Street Arts Center, 202 Washington St. Enjoy traditional foods and Irish and Celtic music. Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. Tickets available at The Coffee Shop Gallery, Nook 'n Cranny and at the door.
The After Prom Party Committee will host a pancake breakfast at the Eagle's Club downtown on Sunday, March 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Proceeds will fund the Junior/Senior After Prom Party to be held in April. The party is an alcohol and drug free event providing games, prizes, food and entertainment for all juniors and seniors.
Still hungry? The Vermillion Area Chamber of Commerce and the Vermillion Development Company will host a joint annual banquet Thursday, April 6. You should have received your invitations this week. Please RSVP early as seating is limited. Our guest speaker will be James. Kunstler, author of The Geography of Nowhere and Home from Nowhere. The Chamber Ambassadors will host a ribbon cutting at the new location of the Vermillion Wine & Liquor Store, on Cottage Ave., Monday, March 20 at 1:30 p.m. Hope you'll join us.
