Clay Rural Water System schedules annual meeting The Clay Rural Water System will hold its 21 annual meeting on Tuesday March 14, at the system office.
Registration will begin at 1 p.m. with the business meeting scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m. The water system office is located 14 miles north of Vermillion on SD Highway 19.
Members will hear reports from the board of directors and staff on 1999 operating activities. Results of the board of directors district elections will be announced. A representative from the South Dakota Association of Rural Water Systems will also speak.
Following the meeting refreshments will be served and tours of the system office and treatment plant will be given.
The Clay Rural Water System is a non-profit, member-owned corporation that supplies water service to 1,500 farms, residents, and businesses in parts of five counties in southeast South Dakota. Organized in 1975, the water system has been operational since 1979. Water service is also provided to the towns of Wakonda and Gayville.
