Clay-Union Electric Corp. to celebrate 65th anniversary Clay-Union Electric Corp. will be celebrating its 65th anniversary at its annual meeting on Tuesday, March 28 in Wakonda at the Wakonda School. Clay-Union Electric Manager Paul Roberts and Board President Dan O'Connor will provide reports to the membership on the operation of the cooperative. Rate stability, economic development and historical information will be highlighted at the meeting.
Members will take action at the meeting to elect a director from District #1 and District #2 to the Clay-Union Electric Board of Directors. At the Feb. 8 District #1 meeting, Dan O'Connor was unanimously selected to be the candidate for District #1 and at the District #2 meeting, Larry Birgen was unanimously selected to be the candidate for District #2. Birgen has since announced that he will not be seeking re-election to the board of directors, so a director will need to be nominated and elected at the annual meeting.
Registration for the meeting will begin at 5 p.m. An evening meal will be served from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. by the Wakonda Knights of Columbus. The business meeting will begin at 6:45 p.m.
All registered members at the meeting will have an opportunity to win an RCA Digital Satellite System that will be drawn for at the conclusion of the meeting.
