Exhibit tells story of Spencer tornado The photographic exhibit of Cedric Chatterley, "Spencer" is showing in Sletwold Hall, W. H. Over Museum, Vermillion, until March 31. This exhibit tells in a thoughtful and dramatic way the story of the Spencer tornado disaster in May 1998 and the subsequent struggle to rebuild that community.
From the nearly instantaneous trashing of that small town to its gradual rebuilding, the viewer is drawn into the story through Cedric's 58 graphic pictures and an accompanying story line written by author and historian, John E. Miller, professor at SDSU, Brookings.
On Friday, March 17, from 5 to 7 p.m., the Friends of the Museum will sponsor a Gallery Walk and Reception with the artist. The public is invited to attend. This exhibit is made possible through the cooperative efforts of the School of Fine Arts, USD, and the Friends of the Museum.
