Senior Citizen Health Fair is March 23 Six different USD health programs and three community organizations are working together to provide health screenings and information at a Senior Citizen Health Fair.
The programs and organizations providing services are audiology (by appointment at 677-5690), dental hygiene, nutrition, nursing, physical therapy, PA's, Adult Services, Greenthumb, and Job Service/computer classes.
All services are free and can help people learn how to age successfully with good health. The fair will be held March 23 at the Vermillion Senior Center from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Lunch will be served to those who make reservations at the Senior Center by calling 624-8072.
Booths will provide screenings, such as hearing, glucose and dental checks, blood pressure, as well as free health literature. Community organizations will be there to share information on what services are available in Vermillion and answer questions.
Job Service will be there to provide information on community computer classes and Greenthumb will be there to get people involved in volunteer work. A free toothbrush exchange will take place, with new toothbrushes for all those who attend.
The day is set up to be festive and enjoyable. Refreshments will be served and door prizes and a raffle for free groceries will be given away. All people are invited to come and have fun, as well as learn about aging successfully. For any questions please contact Amy Andrews at 624-9127.
