USD baseball team takes three South Dakota took three games from Concordia in baseball action in Seward, NE over the weekend.
Sunday, the Coyotes improved to 5-0 with a 19-4 victory. On Saturday, USD swept Concordia by the scores of 7-2 and 13-1.
The Coyotes banged out 14 hits in Sunday's nine-inning contest led by Zane Gibbons, who belted his second grand slam home run in two days. Jeff Snell was 3-for-5 with three doubles and he drove in two runs. Winning pitcher Matt McDermott improved his record to 2-0.
Saturday, the Coyotes had nine hits in the first game led by Gibbons, who went 2-for-4. Mike Miller was 1-for-3 and he drove in two runs. In the second game, winning pitcher Ryan Goodwin tossed a one-hitter, while the Coyotes collected nine hits. Josh Kuecker was 2-for-2 with five RBI, including two home runs and three runs scored. Gibbons was 1-for-3 with a grand slam home run and five RBI.
South Dakota will be in Panama City, FL March 4-11 for seven games.
