VAAC will host sixth annual St. Patrick's Day celebration The Vermillion Area Arts Council will host its sixth annual St. Patrick's Day celebration on Friday, March 17.
Festivities will be held at the Washington Street Arts Center, 202 Washington Street in Vermillion.
Entertainment includes music by "The O'Zones" at 6 p.m. The newly formed ensemble features pipes, strings and a penny whistle. The group includes Bruce Barton, Leo Kretzner and Steve Miller from Vermillion, and John and Keryl Brady and Hartley Alsgaard from Yankton. Irish balladeer Michael McDonald of Yankton, will take the stage at 8 p.m.
Following Irish tradition, the St. Patrick's Day celebration also features a special menu of corned beef and cabbage, colcannons and champs, homemade Irish breads and desserts, along with beverages including "Guins" and non-alcoholic drinks. Serving begins at 5:30 p.m. Door prizes will also be offered.

Tickets for VAAC members are $8 for adults and $5 for kids age 10 and under. Non-members can purchase tickets at $12 for adults and $9 for kids age 10 and under. Tickets are available at The Coffee Shop Gallery and Nook 'n Cranny or at the door. For more information, call 624-4342.
