Youngsters participate in Jaycee Hot Shot contest About 25 boys and girls participated in the Vermillion Jaycees' annual Hot Shot basketball skills competition held Feb. 23 at the Vermillion Middle School.
Hot Shot is a timed competition in which each participant has one minute to shoot baskets from five different "hot spots" on the court, each with a different point value. Bonus points are awarded from attempts from each hot spot. The participants with the most points after three rounds is the winner. The winners in each category were:
8-10 boys
First � Seth Snoozy, second � Alex Schaack, third � Matthew Stange.
11-12 boys
First � Ryan Powell, second � Josh Hanson, third � Jordan Anderson.
11-12 girls
First � Annie Carlson, second � Amy Mart, third � Jackie Thomas.
13-14 boys
First � Ben Oberle, second � Kyle Mollet, third � Chris Teigen.
