Boys' team wins at Canton The Tanager boys� track team placed first among eight schools represented at the Canton Relays on Tuesday, April 11.
Final standings were: first, Vermillion 117; second, Lennox 112; third, EPJ 96; fourth, Harrisburg 85; fifth, Sioux Falls Christian 82; sixth, Canton 59; seventh, Alcester/Hudson 6; eighth, Beresford 1.
Field events results for Vermillion were:
Discus � first, Tim Broderson; second, Tim Russell. Shot Put � second, Anthony Senne; fourth, Dave Jensen. Long jump � second, Todd Anderson Triple jump � third, Anderson.
Eddie Filipovic was first in the 100M dash and 200M dash where Dan Tolsma placed fourth.
Jordan Thompson placed third in the 800M run while Tyler Engstrom was fourth in the 1600M. John Ring won the 3200M run in 10:32.21 minutes.
In the relays, the 4x100M had a first place finish by the team of Tyler Vacek, Thad Roche, Dan Tolsma and Eddie Filipovic. The 4×200 relay placed sixth with Cory Novak, Jeff Brevik, Cory Beach and Mike Buckanaga. Third place was claimed in the 3200M relay by Daryl Neufeld, Bart Miller, Josh Kyte and Jordan Thompson.
In the 4x400M relay the team of Adam Brooks, Tyler Vasek, Tolsma and Filipovic placed fifth. The Medley team of Buckanaga, Dave Hanson, Brooks and Eric Dehner came in first with a winning time of 3:54.73.
