Carlson honored by Janklow

Carlson honored by Janklow Midge Carlson received a proclamation from Gov. William Janklow Saturday at the Clay County Lincoln Day Dinner. Jim Seward, former Elephant Club president, came from Spearfish to emcee the program and make the presentation to Carlson.

The proclamation honors Carlson for outstanding dedication to the Clay County Republican Work. She is president now and has in the past served several terms as president of the Clay County Republican Women and as the backbone and leader of the Elephant Club.

April 1 was declared Midge Carlson Day by Janklow.

Carlson has donated countless hours, inspiration and painstaking work for the Republican Party in Clay County.

The Lincoln Day Dinner was held at the Eagles Club. The evening speaker was Mark Barnett, South Dakota Attorney General.
