Girls' track team earns second place at Canton The Tanager girls' track team scored 76 points to place second at the Canton Relays Invitational last Tuesday, April 11.
Vermillion scorers in field events were:
Sarah Mollet placed second in the shot put with a toss of 37' 6" and Nicole Pederson scored a third place in the long jump and won the triple jump with a total distance of 32'3". Jaclyn Powell and Annie Carlson were second and fourth respectively in the triple jump.
The other field event found the three Tanagers placing in the high jump � Megan Donnelly, Jaclyn Powell and Annie Carlson all tied at third, fourth, and fifth.
Salina Dunkeson placed fifth in the 100M hurdles and fourth in the 300M hurdles. In the 800M run, Angela Rydell ran fifth; and the 1600M run had Natalie Tuetken in fifth place.
In the relays, sixth place was scored in the 4x100M with members Jenna Gilkyson, Meggie Donnelly, Powell and Carly Bernard; the 4x200M relay team was fourth (Elly Kjose, Nicole Pederson, Bernard and Gilkyson). The 4x800M relay team came in second place (Michelle Rasmussen, Tessa Tuetken, Beth Pier and Kathy Plate), and the Medley team with Elly Kjose, Pederson. T. Tuetken, and Rasmussen won the race in 4:34.62 minutes.
There were eight schools represented at the meet.
