Kneifl wins heptathlon South Dakota competed in the Vernon Kennedy heptathlon/decathlon meet hosted by Central Missouri State last Friday and Saturday in Warrensburg, MO.
Tonya Kneifl, a junior from Newcastle, NE, captured the heptathlon crown with 4,927 points and she automatically qualified for the NCAA Division II meet in the process. In the seven-event competition, she won the high jump and the javelin.
Sarah Hoffman was seventh for the Coyotes with 4,083 points and Jill Kurtenbach was 16th with 3,254 points.
