Lennox Invite results in third place for VHS The Tanager boys' track team placed third among nine schools represented at the Lennox Invitational on Friday, April 14.

Final standings were: First, Madison 142; second, Lennox 111; third, Vermillion 89; fourth Harrisburg 69; fifth Hamlin 38; sixth West Central 34; seventh Canton 30; eighth Tri-Valley 25; ninth Howard 12.

Field events results for Vermillion were:

Discus � second, Tim Broderson, and sixth, Tim Russell; Shot put � second, Anthony Senne; Long jump � second, Derrick Brown, and sixth, Todd Anderson.

Eddie Filipovic was first in the 100M dash with a state meet qualifying time of 11.2 seconds. In the 400M dash, Adam Brooks finished third. Eric Dehner and John Ring went one/two in the 1600M run while Tyler Engstrom was second in the 3200M run.

In the relays, the 4x100M team had a second place finish with the team of tyler Vacek, Jason Madsen, Dan Tolsma and Eddie Filipovic. The 4×200 relay team placed third with Thad Roche, Madsen, Tolsma and Filipovic. In the 4x400M relay, the team of Tyler Vasek, Jeff Brevik, Buckanaga and Adam Brooks placed fourth. The 4x800M team came in sixth (Dan Stroeh, Darryl Neufeld, Jon Brooks and Kyte) and the medley team of Dave Hanson, Cory Novak, Brooks and Neufeld finished fifth.

The meet was run in cold and windy conditions with intermittent drizzle.
