Letters Thanks to Highway Patrol
To the editor:
We would like to express our thanks to Trooper Nick Vlasman and Trooper Kevin Joffer for their prompt and courteous service given to us when the alternator quit working on the car as we turned off Interstate 29 onto South Dakota Highway 50 east of Vermillion on March 29.
Trooper Vlasman was coming from Vermillion, noticed the head lights on our car were becoming very dim and he immediately came to assist us. He called for a tow truck out of Vermillion to tow the car to Yankton and also called Trooper Kevin Joffer to transfer us to our homes in Yankton.
The troopers are to be commended for all the services they do for motorists while patrolling the roads and highways.

Yankton Student seeks help with school project
To the editor:
Each member in our class is working on a project called the "Parade of States." We are responsible for gathering as much information about the state we selected to research as possible, in order to help "sell the state."
I have chosen your state, South Dakota, for my project. If any of your readers could help me out by sending me pictures of the state bird, tree, and flower, state license plate, and state map from your state, I would greatly appreciate it!! Please send all information to Jonathan Anderson, Wilkeson Elementary, PO Box A/P-1, Wilkeson, WA 98396.
Thank you for any help you can give me.
