Middle school boys earn second in meet The Elk Point-Jefferson Junior High Triangular, involving Beresford, Vermillion and Elk Point-Jefferson last Thursday, April 13, placed the Redbirds second in both grades.
Final standings were:
Seventh grade � Beresford 56, Vermillion 46, EPJ 46.
Placers for the seventh grade boys were:
Field events � Shot Put � Jordan Anderson first; Long Jump � Kyle Mollet first, Sean Pederson third, Kenny Mays fourth.
In the dashes � 100M � Mollet second, Anderson fourth; 200M � Mollet second, Anderson third, Kenny Mays fourth; 400M � Chad Teigen fourth; 800M run � Matt Prezler first; 1600M run � John Miller third.
The 4×100 relay placed second with members Ben Oberle, Chris Teigen, Kenny Mays and Sean Pederson, as did the 4×200 relay team of Anderson, Oberle, Ryan Mockler and Mollet, and the Medley relay team of Prezler, Chad Teigen, Miller, and Mike Diebert.
The eighth-grade standings were:
EPJ 53, Vermillion 51, Beresford 38.
VMS eighth-grade placers were:
Field events � Shot Put � Kellen Cusick second; Discus �
Cusick second, B.J. Campbell fourth; Long Jump � Jared Burcham first, Jeremy Yankton third; High Jump � Paul Hugo second, Tyler Brown third, Trevor Garrett fourth.
In the dashes � 100M � Burcham first, Campbell second, Mike Clark third; 200M � Cusick first, Clark second; 400M � Hugo fourth; 110M high hurdles � Collin Prosser fifth; 800M run � Tyler Brown first, Max Swanson fourth; 1600M run � Justin Manning third.
The 4x100M relay team placed first with Clark, Garrett, Brown and Burcham, and the 4x200M relay team was first, also with Campbell, Garrett, Clark and Burcham.
