Obituaries Lucy (Burbach) Rameil
Lucy M. (Burbach) Rameil, 93, Vermillion, formerly of the Crofton/Hartington, NE area, died Friday, April 21, 2000 at Sioux Valley Vermillion Hospital.
Funeral services were held April 25 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Vermillion, with the Rev. Rodney Kneifl officiating. Burial was in Beaver Creek Cemetery, Crofton, NE.
Iverson-Siecke Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She was born Aug. 6, 1906, at Hartington, NE, to Julius and Mary (Sudbeck) Kramer. She attended Bow Valley, NE school. She married Anthony W. Burbach Oct. 3, 1927, at Bow Valley. They farmed near Hartington until 1929, when they moved to a farm near Crofton. He died in March of 1969.
She married Alphonse H. Rameil June 13, 1970, at Bow Valley. They lived on a farm near Bow Valley until his death in January of 1987. She remained on the farm until moving to Vermillion in 1990.
She was a member of Martha Circle, St. Agnes Altar Society, Catholic Daughters and St. Agnes Catholic Church.
She is survived by daughters: Martina Maslow, Siren, WI, Alice (Howard) Willson, Vermillion; Karen (Don) Moore, Plymouth, MN; sons: Thomas Burbach, Colorado Springs, CO, Richard (Irma) Burbach, Vermillion, Marvin (Janice) Burbach, Lincoln, NE; step-daughters: Ailene (Gene) Gubbels, Detta Ann (Wally) Gubbels, Velma (Delwyn) Lange, all of Randolph, NE; step-son, Larry Rameil, Basalt, CO; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; 32 step-great-grandchildren; sister: Elsie Elliot, Hartington; brothers: Richard (Isabella) Kramer, Hartington, NE, Roman (Rosella) Kramer and Martin (Mildred) Kramer, both of Crofton, NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, an infant son, one sister, two brothers and one son-in-law.
Louise C. Cavanaugh, 92, Vermillion, died Thursday, April 20, 2000 at Sioux Valley Vermillion Care Center.
Funeral services were held April 24 at the Iverson-Siecke Funeral Home, Vermillion. Burial was in the BluffView Cemetery, Vermillion.
She was born Oct. 12, 1907, in Clay County to Julius and Rose (Visnaw) Bruyer. She attended and graduated from the Vermillion High School in 1926. She then attended The University of South Dakota.
She married Morris Cavanaugh Feb. 28, 1934, in Elk Point. Her husband died Feb. 28, 1954. She worked for Northwestern Bell, Vermillion, until 1958. She moved to Seattle, WA, and worked for Pacific Bell until 1966. She then returned to Vermillion.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Vermillion.
She is survived by one cousin.
