Obituaries Margarete Brandwein

Margarete B. Brandwein, 94, of Vermillion, died March 16, 2000 at the Sioux Valley Vermillion Hospital.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. April 1 at the Gayville Lutheran Church. Burial of the cremains will be in the Trinity (Danish) Lutheran Church Cemetery of Gayville.

Iverson-Siecke Funeral Home, Vermillion, is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Dorothy 'Dot' Fejfar

Dorothy I. Fejfar, 69, Armour, died Tuesday, March 14, 2000 at her home.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. March 17 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Armour, with burial following in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Armour.

Visitation was from 2-5 p.m. March 16 at the Clements-Wiese Funeral Home, Armour, with a prayer service at 8 p.m. at the church.

She was born Jan. 21, 1931, at Burbank, to James and Elizabeth (Smith) Stefani. She grew up in Burbank and attended school there. She married Delmar Fejfar Nov. 28, 1952, at Luverne, MN. They moved to Armour in 1956. He died in 1990.

She is survived by a son: Dan (Patty) Fejfar, Spearfish; a daughter: Deb (Lee) Coler, Armour; three grandchildren; two sisters: Mary Tuttle, Sauk Center, MN; and Darlene Moscini, Penn Valley, CA; brother, Joe Stefani, Phillips, ME.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and one brother.

Margaret Harriman

Margaret E. Harriman, 95, Vermillion, died Monday, March 27, 2000 at Sioux Valley Vermillion Care Center.

Funeral services were held March 30 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Vermillion, with the Rev. Don Imming officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, IA.

Iverson-Siecke Funeral Home, Vermillion, was in charge of arrangements.

She was born May 3, 1904, at Murray County, MN, to Michael and Margaret (Galles) Schrantz. She graduated from Slayton High School, Slayton, MN, in 1921. She was an office manager for J.C. Penney and Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City. She married Roy E. Harriman. They lived in Slayton. She moved to Vermillion in 1943. She retired in 1976.

She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Vermillion.

She is survived by one daughter: Shirley Liekvold, Vermillion; one son: Gerald (Eileen) Harriman, South Bend, IN; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Arlen Lunning

Arlen E. Lunning, 89, died Tuesday, March 20, 2000, from congestive heart failure at the Sioux Valley Hospice Centennial Cottage in Sioux Falls.

Arlen Everett Lunning was born June 30, 1910 on a farm by Radcliff, IA, to Peter and Julia (Amundson) Lunning. As a young boy he moved with his family to a farm close to Westreville where he grew up. He graduated from Wakonda High School in 1930.

Arlen entered the United States Army in 1942 and was discharged in 1945. After his discharge he moved to Sioux Falls and worked for 31 years as an optician for Bausch & Lomb. He was a member of First Lutheran Church and sang in the church choir. He also sang in the American Legion chorus for many years. Arlen enjoyed gardening, hunting, singing and golfing.

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews including his special niece and caregiver, Marilyn Eikanger and her husband, LeeRoy of Sioux Falls. Arlen was preceded in death by his parents, a special sister-in-law, Ruth Lunning, one brother, and seven sisters.

Funeral services were March 25 at Christ the Victor Chapel-First Lutheran Church, with burial at Pleasant Valley Lutheran Cemetery, Westreville.

Miller Funeral Home, Sioux Falls, was in charge of the arrangements.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to: First Lutheran Media Ministry or Sioux Valley Hospital Hospice.
