Softball team drops two in CO

Softball team drops two in CO The University of South Dakota women's softball team dropped a doubleheader to Colorado State in Fort Collins, CO, Friday.

Game scores were 7-3 and 4-1.

In the first game, CSU scored three runs in both the first and second innings to break open the contest. Jennie Orozco and Alyson Carter both had two hits and two RBI, for the winners.

USD was limited to four hits, with Tiffany Davis's triple the big blow for the Coyotes.

Sara Doherty got the pitching win in relief. Tiffany Hill took the loss.

In the second game, CSU broke open a 1-1 game with a run in the fourth and two in the fifth. Sara Hyzer had two hits for the winners, and Carla Hunt had a pair of hits for USD.

Kyla Kiester got the pitching win, while Janice Alswager suffered the loss.
