Tanager boys' track team claims invitational win The Tanager boys' track team took advantage at home by scoring 119.5 points in the VHS Booster Club Earlybird Invitational last Saturday, April 8.

The snowstorm on Friday was ancient history as the sun and wind eliminated any semblance of moisture in the track area.

Field events results for Vermillion were:

Discus � Tim Broderson, first; Tim Russell second; and Brandon Benzel, sixth.

Shot Put � Anthony Senne, first;

Long jump � Todd Anderson, sixth;

Triple jump � Anderson, third.

Eddie Filipovic placed second and Dan Tolsma sixth in the 100M dash and Tolsma was third in the 200M dash.

Adam Brooks placed fifth in the 400M run and John Ring won the 800M with Tyler Brown finishing sixth.

Jon Brooks placed sixth in the 1600M and Eric Dehner won the 3200M with Tyler Engstrom coming in third. Josh Kyte was fifth in the 300M hurdles.

In the relays, the 4x100M team (Tyler Vacek, Dan Tolsma, Thad Roche and Eddie Filipovic) had a first place finish, as did the 4x800M team (Jordan Thompson, Eric Dehner, John Ring and Tyler Engstrom). Third place was claimed in the medley relay with the team of Eric Rasmussen, Dave Hanson, Bart Miller and Mike Buckanaga. In the 1600M relay the Tanagers (Tyler Vacek, Adam Brooks, Jeff Brevik and Bart Miller) came in fourth. In the 4x200M relay the team of Tyler Vacek, Thad Roche, Dan Tolsma and Eddie Filipovic earned second place.
