Youth Track Club competes April 2 The Vermillion Youth Track Club began its second season of competition, Sunday, April 2 at Roberts Stadium in Sioux City, IA. Competing on a wet and windy afternoon were:
Second grade: Michael Nelson, first � 100m, second � long jump, and third � 400m.
Third grade: Tony Thomas, second � long jump (10'5") and fourth � high jump (3'2").
Fourth grade: Casey Carlson, first � long jump (12'6"), 4×100 (1:02.37-meet record) and second � high jump (3'6")
Matt Nelson, first � high jump (3'8"), 4×100 (1:02.37-meet record), third � 100m, and fourth � long jump.

Fifth grade: Andrew Manning, first � 800m (2:49.69-meet record), and 400m, second � high jump (3'8") and 100m (16.81) and fifth � long jump.
Ryan O'Connor, first � 100m (16.7), second � long jump (11'9.5"), and third � 400m.
Jeff Donnelly, second � high jump (3'8"), fourth � long jump (11'.5").
Seventh grade: Annie Carlson, first � long jump (13'6").
Eighth grade: Justin Manning, first � 1600m (6:14) and 800m (2:53).

The Vermillion Youth Track Club meets Tuesdays and Fridays from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Vermillion High School track. All second- through eighth- graders are welcome.
