Brockevelt receives Doane scholarship Andrew Brockevelt, a senior at Stromsburg (NE) High School, has been awarded a President's Scholarship to attend Doane College, Crete, NE.
This award is valued at $4,000 for a four-year period.
Brockevelt is the son of Sue Van Housen, Stromsburg, NE, and Robert Brockevelt, Vermillion.
Doane is a four-year comprehensive institution that emphasizes liberal arts education. The college offers bachelor of arts and bachelor of science degrees in 40 major fields within the divisions of fine arts and humanities; business; education; science, mathematics, information science and technology; and social science.
More than 1,400 undergraduate students are enrolled at Doane's Crete and Lincoln campuses. The college was recently ranked among the top 30 liberal arts colleges in the Midwest in U.S News & World Report's Best College's Guidebook 2000.
Doane College was founded in 1872 through the efforts of New Englander Thomas Doane.
