Girls' golf team competes at Mitchell Invitational Coach Kirk Hogen was faced with a shorthanded Vermillion High School team at the Mitchell Kernel girls' golf invitational at Lakeview Golf Course on Friday, April 28.
"We were confronted with a couple of conflicts which left us with some younger players to fill out the varsity and junior varsity in the tournament," he said.
The varsity team was led in scoring by Allison Stewart with a 95. Karrie Plate with a 99, Tabitha Hubert at 101, Brook Nelson with 105 and Ashley Bjorkman at 114 completed the group which placed 10th out of 14 teams entered, with a total score of 400 for the 18-hole tourney.
Mitchell won its home tournament with a 341, and the medalist was Meghan Little from Sturgis with a 77.
JV scores were made using a three-member team total. The Tanager team placed sixth out of 14. Brookings JV had low score of 315, with Angie Alberts as medalist for the Bobcats, scoring a 94.
Individual VHS JV scores were: Alison Obr � 107, Jackie Thomas – 114, and Tyra Upward � 125.
