Girls' track team participates in 2000 Quarterback Relays Seven schools were represented at the Yankton High School 2000 Quarterback Relays Thursday, April 27: Brandon Valley, Dakota Valley, Lennox, Madison, O'Gorman, Vermillion and Yankton.
No team points were recorded but the Tanager girls' track team had some good results in several events.
Sarah Mollet placed third in the shot put, Elly Kjose finished fourth in the 100M dash, and the 4x800M relay team placed second with members Michelle Rasmussen, Tessa Tuetken, Kathy Plate and Beth Pier in the varsity division.
The JV division was comprised of sophomore competitors only, and the results for the Tanager girls were excellent, considering the other teams entered.
Meggie Donnelly won the high jump and Annie Carlson was second. She also placed fifth in the long jump and fourth in the 110M hurdles. Jenna Gilkyson was in second place in the 100M dash. Emily Pier was fifth in the 1600M run and Angie Rydell won the 3200M run in a time-13:08.4.
The 4x200M relay team, made up of Jenna Gilkyson, Donnelly, Carly Bernard and Molly Beeman, placed third.
