Lio, Thompson chosen Students of the Month Vicky Lio and Jordan Thompson were selected as April Students of the Month at Vermillion High School.
A $100 scholarship will be presented to them by First National Bank in Vermillion for the leadership they have displayed during their high school careers.
"Vicky is an outstanding young lady," according to her faculty endorsement, which has been exemplified by the multitude of her activities. She was involved with the student council, student congress, debate, swing choir, National Honor Society, the Vermillionaire, the Renaissance Board, and the Community Action Project.
Lio has narrowed her choices for a liberal arts education to Iowa State University, the University of Illinois, and the University of Minnesota. Her parents are Yuhlong and Biying Lio.
Thompson plans to major in finance at Southern Methodist University while being in the pre-medicine program. His parents are Craig and Marsha Thompson.
His teacher endorsement indicated that Thompson was "one of the finer students I have dealt with" His activities have included basketball, the Vermillionaire, National Honor Society, track and his youth group.

Other seniors nominated for the honor were Stephen Varns, Aaron Kaur, Greg Reinhart, Terri Upward, Jenny Merrigan, Brenda Banks, Erin Conlon, Cory Novak and Seth Phillips.
