Middle school boys compete in Lennox The 2000 Junior High Big 8 Conference Triangular, involving Lennox, Madison and Vermillion was held last Monday, May 15 with the seventh-grade Redbirds scoring 41 points to tie Madison for second as Lennox accumulated 60 points to win their division.

The placers for the seventh-grade boys were:

In field events: Shot put � Jordan Anderson, first, 41'5"; Discus � Anderson, fourth; Long jump � Kenny Mays, first, 15'1.5", Kyle Mollet, third.

In the dashes: 100M � Anderson, second, Mollet, third; 200M � Mollet, third; 400M � Chad Teigen, third; 100M hurdles � Ben Oberle, fourth.

Long distance runs: 800M run � Jon Miller, first, 2:41 minutes; 1600M run � Miller, first, 5:56.4 minutes.

The 4×200 relay team of Mays, Anderson, Mockler and Mollet placed first and the medley relay team of Sean Pederson, Oberle, Teigen and Matt Prezler placed second.

The eighth-grade Redbirds placed second with 45 points as Lennox won the division with 55, while Madison scored 42 for third.

Results for the eighth-grade boys were:

Field events: Shot put � Kellen Cusick, first, 47'7"; Discus � Cusick, third, 132'5"; Long jump � Jared Burcham, second; High jump � Tyler Brown, second.

In the dashes: 100M � Burcham, first, 12.5 seconds; 200M � Burcham, third, and B.J. Campbell, fourth; 400M � Trevor Garret, fourth; 100M high hurdles � Colin Prosser, third, and Kyle Kooy, fourth.

Long distance runs: 800M run � Tyler Brown, first, 2:17.5 minutes; 1600M run � Justin Manning, third, and Andy Hayner, fourth.

The 4x100M relay team placed first (Clark, Garret, Brown and Campbell) at 51.5 seconds, and the 4x200M relay also was first (Campbell, Cusick, Clark and Burcham) at 1:45.3 minutes.

Note: Team members on relay teams might have been changed due to circumstances, like running more than one team in a race. This meet completes the middle school track season for 1999-2000.
