Tanager boys meet with success at Lennox meet The Tanager boys' track team had a very successful time at the Lennox Booster Club Qualifier on Monday, May 1 in the make up meet which had been postponed due to weather.
No team scoring was determined since this was considered an individual competition with chances for each participant to make a score which would qualify him for the state meet.
Schools attending the meet were Beresford, Brookings, Lennox, Sioux Falls Lincoln, Parker, and Vermillion.
Field events results for Vermillion were:
Discus � first Tim Broderson and third Tim Russell; Shot put � fourth Anthony Senne; Long jump � fifth Todd Anderson, and sixth Derrick Brown; Triple Jump � fourth Anderson.
The 110 high hurdles had Seth Nesselhuf in third place and he was also third in the 300M hurdles, ahead of fourth place finisher, Josh Kyte.
Eddie Filipovic swept the 100M and 200M dashes with a state meet qualifying time of 11.2 seconds in the 100 and 23.2 seconds in the 200. In the 400M dash, Adam Brooks finished fourth. Jordan Thompson placed fourth in the 800M run and Daryl Neufeld was sixth.
John Ring went fourth in the 1600M run and Neufeld came in fifth, while Eric Dehner placed second in the 3200M run, with John Brooks, and Derrick Brown finishing fifth and sixth, respectively.
In the relays, the 4x100M team finished first (Tyler Vacek, Jason Madsen, Dan Tolsma and Eddie Filipovic), and the 4×200 relay team won first place with the same foursome.
In the 4x400M relay the team of Vasek, Tolsma, Adam Brooks and Mike Veitz placed fourth. The 4x800M team came in fourth (Bart Miller, Josh Kyte, Leif Nygaard and Dan Stroeh), and the medley team of Thad Roche, Jared Thedorf, Jeff Brevik and Miller also finished fourth.
