University students gaining experience student teaching

University students gaining experience student teaching Education students at The University of South Dakota are completing their student teaching in area schools this spring. They began their teaching assignments on Feb. 21 and will continue through May 12.

Students practice teach at several levels including kindergarten, elementary and secondary. All education students are required to teach at least one semester. Special education majors spend two semesters student teaching.

Akron: Jason Kerr Dobney, daughter of Dan and Bev Dobney, music education, Vermillion.


Fort Calhoun: Jeff Jensen, son of Phil and Voni Jensen, history education, Vermillion.

South Dakota

Baltic: Jennifer Hasvold, daughter of Terry and Charlotte Hasvold, elementary education, Wakonda.

Vermillion: Gretchen Burbach, daughter of Anthony and Marlys Solbach, music education, Sioux City, IA. Carrie Heidecker, daughter of Jan and Colleen Heidecker, elementary/special education, Dakota Valley. Kirsten Iverson, daughter of Bob and Linda Iverson, elementary education, Yankton. Timothy Obr, physical education, Elk Point-Jefferson. Susan Schnack, daughter of Allan and the late Marge Jones, elementary education, Vermillion.


Hartford: Christine Fehring, daughter of Arnold and Colleen Fehring, physical eduction, Vermillion.
