Foster to play for Coyotes Dave Boots, head basketball coach at The University of South Dakota, has announced that junior college All-American Jimmie Foster, a 6-3, 215 pound guard from Kirkwood (IA) Community College, has signed a North Central Conference letter of intent to play basketball for the Coyotes.
Foster will be a junior at South Dakota during the 2000-01 basketball season. He was a second team National Junior College All-American team while averaging 20 points per game for Kirkwood Community College. Originally of Milwaukee, WI, he was named first-team all conference and first-team all region.
The USD men's basketball program, the two-time defending North Central Conference champions, have won four NCC titles in the past eight years (1993, 1994, 1999 and 2000). The Coyotes won the regional title in 1993 and 1994, making appearances in the "Elite Eight" in both years. USD has the most wins in the NCC since 1988, averaging 20 wins per season.
