Informational meeting set for new comment period The National Park Service will hold an informational meeting on Friday, June 16 to discuss the process and details of the reopening of the public comment period on the National Park Service jet ski ban.
The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Summit Activities Center, 1801 Summit Street, Yankton.
Thune will host the meeting with Paul Hedron, district superintendent for the park service, O'Neill, NE, and possibly other park officials. The session will be used to explain how residents can make their concerns heard and their comments included in the public record.
"This informational meeting will help spread the word on how exactly people can make their voices heard, whether it be writing the National Park Service, or attending and speaking at a public meeting," Thune said. "I hope people on both sides of the issue will participate."
