Richard J. Brewer, 53, Vermillion, died Thursday, June 15, 2000 at his residence.
Funeral services were held Monday at the First Baptist Church, Vermillion, with the Rev. Lew Christensen officiating. Burial was in BluffView Cemetery, Vermillion.
Iverson-Siecke Funeral home, was in charge of arrangements.
He was born Dec. 20, 1946, in Vermillion, to Joseph and Mearl (Clark) Brewer. He attended Vermillion schools. On Dec. 20, 1964, he married Sharon Thompson in Vermillion. He farmed in Clay County and was a truck driver. He quit farming three years ago to drive full-time.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Vermillion, and the Vermillion Eagles.
He is survived by his wife: Sharon, Vermillion; son: Todd (Reda) Brewer, Vermillion; daughter: Michelle (Dan) Malloy, Sioux City, IA; four grandchildren: Karl and Joseph Brewer and Makayla and Kaitlyn Malloy; his mother: Mearl Brewer, Vermillion; sisters: Aileen (Herman) Hosek, Winner, and Irene (Don) Chamberlain, Vermillion.
