Rebekah, Odd Fellow lodges meet Vermillion Rebekah Lodge and Odd Fellow Lodge met Tuesday evening for their regular meeting. Before the meeting the members gathered at the cemetery at the gravesite of the Odd Fellow and Rebekah Stone for a service. They then went to the hall for a pot luck supper, and following the supper a memorial service was held for all departed members.
The Odd Fellows had their official visitor, Edwin Ring, deputy grand master from Gregory. His wife, Violet Ring, grand junior warden of the Grand LEA of South Dakota, visited the Rebekahs.
Plans were made for assembly in June at Sioux Falls. Members who are ill were announced, and Agnes Sealey reported on her trip to Washington, DC to lay wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. A short bingo meeting was held after the meeting.
The Vermillion Encampment and LEA met Wednesday evening for their regular meeting. Betty McCambridge, chief matriarch, conducted the meeting. Regular opening was held and it was reported that we made $293 for the Ronald McDonald House at our auction. Plans were made for attending the Grand LEA session to be held in Sioux Falls.
The auxiliary is to present the flags and tributes and present the past grand matriarchs.
Kathy Lilly was appointed to take care of the flags and Fern Morse will take care of the past grand matriarchs. Lunch was served by Mearl Brewer, Leona Sealey and Elinore Bobier. The next meeting will be June 28.
