USD's Hambley named Free Enterprise Fellow for SIFE Team at USD Professor Diane Hambley of The University of South Dakota School of Business was recently named a Sam M. Walton Free Enterprise Fellow for the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) Team at USD.
There are more than 300 Sam M. Walton Fellows nation wide who train and motivate over 30,000 SIFE Team Members annually.
Professor Hambley directed the USD SIFE Team as it presented its education outreach project at the SIFE Regional Exposition and Career Opportunity Fair in Minneapolis, MN, this spring. The teams were judged on the effectiveness of their projects during a 25-minute presentation. They were evaluated on creativity and innovation, the results of their education programs, and success in utilizing resources and documentation of activities.
SIFE is a non-profit organization that works with businesses and higher education to provide students the opportunity to learn leadership, teamwork and communication skills through learning, practicing, and teaching the principles of free enterprise. The organization is active on more the 700 campuses in 48 states and 15 countries.
The Fellowship, created in 1990 by the Wal-Mart Foundation, is named for Samuel M. Walton, founder and CEO of the Wal-Mart Corporation.
